SM64CDPY 1.9.2: More resilient downloads and animated Player previews
Version 1.9.2 integrates the R2 fallback branch into main: optional mirror-first downloads, enriched catalog support, game-aligned Library activation and articulated previews for all five Player characters.
- Choose the preferred download source in Settings while keeping the other valid source as fallback.
- Read optional mirror metadata and enriched catalog fields without requiring them in older catalogs.
- Handle long Lua headers like the game and explain unreadable scripts separately from active incompatibilities.
SM64CDPY 1.9.1: Smoother navigation and guided permissions
Version 1.9.1 is a navigation patch: Back, the menus, the dock and the visual Back arrow share one history of main destinations, and a new Permissions & access center with a four-step guided setup explains and requests Android access only when it is actually needed.
- Android Back, the classic drawer, the Retro Manga menu, the dock, internal links and the themed Back arrow follow the same in-memory history of main destinations.
- Back closes an open drawer, dialog, modal or submenu first, then pops a secondary screen, then returns to the previous main destination and finally to Home; the app exits only from Home without history.
- Query strings survive the round trip, so a filtered catalogue or a specific collection comes back exactly as it was.
SM64CDPY 1.9.0: Play together, prepare your ROM and explore in five languages
Version 1.9.0 adds the Play multiplayer flow, local ROM preparation, a complete How to Play guide, French and Italian, localized mod descriptions, richer mod media and a polished Manga interface with faster cached Library and Save Files entry.
- Create or join a compatible multiplayer session with a short code, share it as text and keep the bridge active while SM64CoopDX is open.
- Prepare a valid user-provided USA z64, v64 or n64 dump locally, with bounded conversion, progress, cancellation and verified SAF export.
- Learn setup through a themed swipeable guide, including game installation, ROM preparation, folders, connection and the first mod.

Yes. The app is free, and its source code is openly available on GitHub.
Does SM64CDPY require the game or a ROM?
No. You can browse the catalog without SM64CDPY requesting or verifying game files. Installing a mod only requires a compatible destination folder selected by the user. SM64CDPY does not distribute the game, ROMs, SM64CoopDX, or its Android builds.
